hey, i'm abdrehim.

SWE @ AASTU | a2sv graduate | flutter developer

i spend most of my time building, experimenting, and refining my craft in mobile development. i care about software that is secure, reliable, and genuinely useful in the real world. more than anything, i'm someone who keeps learning and improving every single day.

abdrehim profile

always down to chat about mobile systems, clean architecture, and building things that actually help people.

we aren't given anything we can't handle.

quick stats

a few numbers from my journey so far

  • fully ai-powered story engine using gemini api for story paths, gemini text-to-voice, and pollination ai scene images.
  • immersion feed uses a tiktok-style experience with smooth preloading.
  • growth garden tracks streaks through a simple gamified tree profile.

experience

my journey

current

4th-year software engineering student @ aastu

currently in my 4th year at addis ababa science and technology university. balancing heavy coursework with building side projects and keeping my grades up. just trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible before graduation.

current

gdsc flutter mentor

mentoring the 2026 batch of google developer student clubs in flutter. i try my best to help my peers understand clean architecture and debug state management issues. guiding others through their blockers constantly makes me a better developer.

internship

software engineer intern @ eskalate

had the opportunity to work on a production e-commerce app. i collaborated with the backend team to build secure authentication, product management, and a real-time socket.io chat feature using flutter. wrote a lot of unit tests to make sure we didn't break anything.

academy

a2sv (africa to silicon valley) graduate

completed an intensive, life-changing software engineering program backed by google. spent months diving deep into data structures, algorithms, and system design alongside an incredibly inspiring community.

the roots

teaching & community

i’ve been volunteering to teach and mentor since elementary school (somehow collected 15+ community certificates along the way). i just genuinely believe that the best way to master something is to share it with someone else.
